75 years preserving a unique land

El Gargantón

Our private estate stretches out like a tapestry of life, where every corner hides a whisper of nature. You don't just come here to stay: you come to breathe fresh air, listen to the birds sing, stroll among native flora, and spot the wildlife that still finds refuge in these carefully tended areas.

We are passionately dedicated to environmental conservation, committed to a vibrant rural Spain, with soul and a future. Every restored stone, every planted tree, every thoughtful detail is an act of love for what we were and what we want to continue to be.

Las Casas del Gargantón are not just five rural houses in the heart of La Mancha. They are the heartbeat of a forgotten history, the fruit of a vision, and a symbol of what happens when love for the land becomes a lifelong project.

It all began in 1950, when a man with a clear vision and a firm purpose, Octavio Pérez-Andújar, arrived in this area of the province of Ciudad Real. At that time, this land lacked the natural beauty it now possesses. It was a harsh, sparsely populated, and unrecognized landscape. But Octavio saw beyond. He saw the potential, the hidden beauty, and decided to sow life.

It was he who built the houses that today form our accommodation. Entire families lived in them, as a community, with a school, a church, and a grocery store. Thus was born the small town that for years would appear on maps as Las Casas del Gargantón. A corner of life in the middle of the mountains.

Decades later, these houses were empty. Time and neglect had covered with silence what once teemed with voices and dreams. But we, heirs to that same passion for the land, decided that this story could not be forgotten.

Today, we've not only lovingly restored the houses, respecting their original essence and providing them with the comfort you deserve. We've also embraced Octavio's true legacy: valuing nature and rural Spain.

Every year, we plant new trees, clean up our forests, and protect the wildlife that lives there: deer, wild boar, fallow deer, roe deer, and mouflon find a safe haven here, in an environment cared for with respect and patience. We are not mere hosts; we are guardians of this piece of the world.

We believe our most valuable resource is the environment that surrounds us. That's why we work every day to preserve it, creating a balance between hospitality and sustainability. We want our visitors to not only enjoy a break, but also feel a connection to something greater: the history of a place reborn, the life that regenerates, and the soul of a land that breathes again.

Come meet us. Come discover how the past and nature embrace to offer you a present filled with calm, beauty, and truth.
